You can sit in front of this work and gaze in the darkness under the cloth. There is a endless line of little led lights, like on an airport landing strip, but these lights do slow impossible curves.

Permanent public sculpture for City of Jyväskylä, Kangas area, in front of OBG-building.

The work consist of 6 pieces reminding us of plus and minus signs, or cold and heat, and maybe a bit about lighthouses. There is a light inside of each piece. The lights start to glow couple at a time and they slowly dim down, letting another lights to start to glow. In the building there’s a company doing mainly energy calculations.

Steel and glass

Permanent public sculpture for city of Naantali, Schoolhouse of Luonnonmaa.

The corner of the building really happens to divide the sun light to mostly one of the sides at a time. So, the work is affected by the angle of the sun and laying out colored shadows.

Social Animal has eleven chairs which the viewers can take hold of. These chairs can then carefully be rocked and the pressure mechanism will make the main structure move. Each chair has two syringes with counterparts on the structure which will make the joints articulate. The more people on the chairs, the more the structure will move. Sometimes the movement is like breathing, sometimes it feels like the structure is trying to learn to walk. People need to work together to find the right rhythms.

The chair has 19 pressure points /pneumatic syringes which have their counterparts as mechanical flowers. The flowers will open and close depenging on how you will sit and move on the chair. Each ones personal body will make different movement on the flowers, maybe they are measuring something.

Wood, plates, spoons, magnets and elctronics

Homefront consist of 10 meter long wooden table, which has 28 plates with spoons. Under every plate there is a magnet with a motor, controlled by a 6 long minute program. The program is like a symphony with a dramatic arc. In the beginning there is only couple plates and spoons having a ‘conversation’ knocking around and makin some noice until all the spoons will join the argument. At some point it will get calmer unti it starts again. In the end there is a wave which will silence everyone.

Puu, lautaset, lusikat, magneetit ja elektroniikka

Kotimyrsky koostuu 10 metrisestä talonpoikaistyylisestä pöydästä, jolla on 28 lautasta ja lusikkaa. Jokaisen lautasen alla on moottori ja magneetti, moottoreita ohjaa tietokone-ohjelma, jonka kesto on noin 6 minuuttia. Ohjelma liikuttaa lusikoita lautasilla kuin rakennettua sinfoniaa, kohoten ja laskien. Aluksi muutama lusikka reagoi toisiinsa puolin ja toisin, koputtaen ja raapien pöydän eri puolilla, kunnes riitely leviää koko pöydän kattavaksi kolinaksi, taas rauhoittuen. Välillä koko pöydän läpi pyyhkäisee kuin tuuli, joka saa kaikki lusikat vuorollaan heilahtamaan ja hiljentymään.

The work is a commission work for the city of Helsinki’s new Children’s Hospital. It’s located in the waiting room for roentgen and ultrasound.

The work has 6 multi-angled (4-12 angles) periscopes with mirrors going around and ending to two central circles. The bigger circle has 4 periscopes and the smaller 2 leading to it. Different length periscopes are like sea routes, some crossing and some longer than others.

Inside the circles, under a dark blue glass, there are landscapes with mountains/icebergs with a wandering light, which slowly rotates the circles, unveiling new landscapes and routes to be discovered. This light also affects the scenery to be seen from the periscopes. There are also doors to be opened on the way to the mountains, these doors will let orange/red/yellow light in. which can be seen from the end of the periscope. The whole work is made from oak to make it have a feeling of old wooden ships.

Equal Network is a mechanical social structure for 3 people. It’s closed system and a network without electricity. It needs the participators to work together to see and feel each other, or they can just hold and lock each others hands on the mechanism.  There is also a system for the faces, you can push a switch with your forehead and the doors in front of you will open. In the middle of the structure there is a triangle shaped mirror, which can be rotated if the participators move in sync.

Teos on kuin mekaaninen sosiaalinen media kolmelle käyttäjälle. Otsalla työnnetään nappia, joka aukaisee luukut, joista voit nähdä kaksi muuta osallistujaa kolmionmuotoisen peilin kautta. Käsien mekanismeilla voi tarttua toista kädestä tai vain taputella tätä. Kun teoksella on yhtäaikaa kolme käyttäjää, he voivat liikutta kolmiopeiliä. Ajatuksena on kone ihmisten välissä, jolloin ei tarvitse suoraa kohdata toista ihmistä, vaan häneen voi tutusta laitteen kautta. Teoksen tasa-arvoiset muodot jokaiselle ovat lopulta valhetta tasa-arvoisuudesta, sillä ihmiset ovat eri kokoisia ja muotoisia.

The piece is made together with artist Pasi Rauhala.

The Cave And The Find is a permanent public sculpture for the city of Outokumpu’s main school building. The piece is located in two places and combines video projection mappingand physical sculpture. The main inspiration of the work comes from the history of city of Outokumpu being a mining city. The main shape of the work is three dimensional triangle, which can be seen as triangulation used in mining. These triangles form a geometrical piece of rock formation. The bigger piece is located in the wing of natural sciences and the makes the stairway remind a little bit like a cave. In the video projection over the triangles, there is a faked sun light rising and setting about 10 minute intervals. Also from time to time, there is a searchlight searching something from the rock.  On the wall next to the bigger formation, are several triangles with mirrors on one side, these mirrors are pointed so, that the real sunlight from window will let the reflections wander trough the triangles.

Outokummun kaupungin Kummun kouluun sijoitettu pysyvä Teos ‘Luola ja Löytö’ on kaksioisainen ja yhdistää reliefin ja videoprojisoinnin. Teoksen idea lähti Outokummun historiasta kaivoskaupunkina. Reliefin perusmuodon ‘kolmion’, voi ajatella liittyvän vaikka kolmiomittaukseen, joka kaivostoiminnassa on hyvin olennaista. Tämä perusmuoto muodostaa suuremman geometrisen kallioleikkauksen. 

Teoksen suurempi osuus saa luonnontieteiden siiven porraskäytävän muistuttamaan hieman luolamaista tilaa. Kallioreliefin päälle projisoidussa videossa vaeltaa kuin kaivosmiehen otsalampun valo, joka mukailee teoksen muotoja tarkasti. Kaivosmies on saapunut luolaan ja ehkä etsii jotain. Myöhemmin iltapäivällä teoksen projisointi muuttuu nousevaa ja laskevaa auringonvaloa simuloivaksi kokonaisprojisoinniksi. Aurinko nousee ja laskee keinotekoisesti kallion päälle toistuen 10:n minuutin sykleissä. Viereisellä seinälle on yksittäisiä kolmiomuotoja peilein, jotka on suunnattu suuremmalle muodolle. Näin luonnon valo projisoi omia muotojaan auringon osuessa peileihin. 

Teoksen pienempi osuus sijaitsee taide-aineiden siivessä ja on värikkäämpi ja räiskyvämpi kuin malmi-löytö.Teoksessa pyörii kolme eri videoprojisointia muotojen päällä eri aikoihin päivästä.

230 cm x 150 cm x 250 cm , Acrylic, phosphorescent paint, light, tape, and wire.

In the space there are 9 transparent acrylic sheets (230 cm x 150 cm) hanging from the ceiling. The sheets are 120 cm from the floor and take about 250 cm in the length.
There are little painted phosphorescent dots on the acrylics, and these dots form star clusters. Together the stars form a one giant dying star, which can be observed three dimensionally. The lights go on and off in the space. The dark sequence last about 90 seconds and after that, there is a bright profile light through the sheets for about 20 seconds.  Light will ‘load’ the phosphorescent dots, which will then glow briefly and slowly go dark. Light will also show the sketches and notes made from the stars. Also some of the stars are covered with tape. It all looks like a chaotic study about mechanics of a dying star and it’s neighbours. When the light goes off and it’s completely dark, only the stars will glow in the space floating in front of the viewer.

Kuoleva tähti

230 cm x 150 cm x 250 cm  (asennetaan tilan mukaan) Fosforimaali, akryylimuovi, valo, teippi, tussi ja vaijeri.

Tilassa on 9 läpinäkyvää akryylimuovilevyä peräkkäin 250 cm matkalla ja 120 cm korkeudella. Näihin levyihin on maalattu fosforimaalilla pieniä täpliä, jotka muistuttavat tähtikenttiä. Täplät muistuttavat kokonaisuudessaan kolmiulotteisesti yhtä kuolevaa tähteä. Tilassa on vuoroin pimeää, vuoroin valoisaa. Pimeä jakso kestää 90 sekunttia, jonka jälkeen tilassa syttyy kirkas profiilivalo levyjen läpi 20 sekunniksi. Valo lataa fosforipisteet, jotka hehkuvat tämä jälkeen kunnes hitaasti sammuvat. Valo paljastaa tähtikenttien luonnokset, laskelmat ja kaavat, sekä teipit joilla osa tähdistä on peitetty. Ikään kuin joku olisi yrittänyt tieteellisesti selvittää kuolevan tähden toimintaa. Valon sammuessa kaikki muu katoaa, paitsi hitaasti sammuvat tähdet, jotka leijuvat katsojan edessä kolmiulotteisesti pimeydessä.

The work is based around the idea of a floor of a building being like a record which has saved the history of the building. In a way the users of the building have left their marks on the floor. The needles and simple wooden amplifiers let the user move the structure freely around and find the different sounds around the building's floor. Sometimes you can find even chords.

Teos perustuu ideaan lattiasta äänilevyn kaltaisena pintana, joka on tallentanut rakennuksen historiaa käyttäjien kulutuksen muodossa. Puiset neulat ja vahvistimet antavat käyttäjän liikuttaa rakennelmaa ympäärinsä ja tutkia lattiasta löytyviä ääniä. Toisinaan äänet muodostavat jopa sointuja.

The work teaches how to hug without an other person.

The viewer must trust the construction and lean on it, then he/she is able to reach the handles. The viewer can turn these handles as if he/she would be hugging someone. The mechanism will in turn hug the viewer in the same way with the mechanical arms which have three turning points. Instructional video is included. In the video people try the work for the first time.

Teos opettaa halaamaan ilman toista ihmistä.

Katsojan täytyy luottaa teokseen ja nojata kehonsa teoksen rakenteeseen, jolloin hän yltää käsillään vipujen kahvoihin. Näitä kahvoja kääntämällä, samaan tapaan kuin toista ihmistä halaamalla, kääntyvät teoksen 'käsivarret' kolmesta nivelestä, kuten ihmisen kädetkin. Mekanismi toistaa katsojan käsien liikkeet katsojan selälle käänteisesti. Teoksessa ei ole sähköä. Teokseen sisältyy oheinen ohjevideo, jossa osallistujat kokeilevat teostaa ensimmäistä kertaa.

The piece is a structure which can be worn by the viewer. It is mechanically adjustable for the viewer's body type. There is a mirror right above the viewer eyes, allowing him or her to only see from feet down. The viewer is free to move in the space with the structure.

Teos on katsojan päälle puetteva mekaaninen rakenne. Katsoja ottaa rakenteen telineestä ja vetää vivuista rakenteen itselleen sopivaksi. Teoksessa on peili, joka lähtee heti silmien yläpuolelta 40 asteen kulmassa alaspäin, jolloin katsoja näkee lattian ja omien jalkojensa kärjet. Katsoja voi tämän jälkeen liikkua vapaasti teos yllään.

The work aims to create an illusion of a space moving around the viewer. In the structure there is a very bright superled moving back and forth for the lenght of 3 meters. The speed of the movement is every time different. The superled goes through circles which casts moving shadows to the walls and the ceiling.

Teos tähtää illuusioon tunnelimaisesta edestakaisesta liikkeestä. Rakenteessa liikkuu hyvin kirkas valonlähde edestakaisin 3:n metrin matkan. Tällä matkalla on valon ympärillä renkaita, jotka heittävät liikkuvia varjoja ympäröivään tilaan. Tämä saa aikaan liikkeen tunnun. Valon liikkumisnopeus on joka kerta eri, nopeus arvotaan aina uusiksi ohjausyksiköstä.

The work is meant to extend one’s visual perception of the immediate surroundings of the viewer. Like a fly’s vision. The whole structure rotates slowly, the mirrors open and close very slowly (like a book) and also move up and down. Finally the head support is also moving slowly and giving an unsure impression of whatever the viewer’s head is actually moving or the mirrors in front of the viewer.

Teoksen on tarkoitus laajentaa ihmisen näköhavaintoa ihmisen välittömästä ympäristöstä, hiukan kuin kärpäsen verkkosilmien näkökenttää vastaamaan. Koko rakennelman, johon katsoja saa kiivetä istumaan, pyörii hitaasti, peilit sulkeutuvat ja avautuvat hitaasti, kuitenkin niin, että katsoja ei koskaan näe niistä itseään. Peilit myös liikkuvat ylä -ja alasuunnassa hitaasti. Myös katsojan niskatuki liikkuu, jättäen katsojalle epävarmaksi, että kumpi liikkuu - katseen kohde vai katsojan pää.

The Chain Reaction is meant to be controlled by the viewer and to react to viewer’s movements. It roughly mimics these movements and even continues them. From the three mechanical structures the first one will follow the main board which the viewer is balancing on, the second will follow the first and finally, the third one will follow the second. The work is only active when there is someone standing on the board.

Ketjurektio on teos, jota katsojan on tarkoitus kontrolloida. Teos reagoi katsojan tasapainoilevaan liikkeeseen tasapainolaudalla ja pelkistäen 3 rakennetta pyrkii jäljittelemään katsoja liikettä ja rytmiä. Ensimmäinen rakenne seuraa katsojan liikettä, toinen rakenne seuraa ensimmäisen rakenteen liikettä ja kolmas rakenne seuraa toisen liikettä. Teos on liikkeessä ainoastaan kun joku käyttää tasapainolautaa.

In the video I wanted to capture the autonomous movements of a human being. For the 15 participants the task was simple; just hold a glass of water on your head and try to stay in balance on balancing board. The result was 15 different styles of unconscious dance acts.

The work consist of two parts: the actual mechanical structure (which is hanging from the ceiling) and the shadow grid projected on the floor with a led light. The mechanical structure simplifies the movement of a wave in two parts, to a slowly rocking grid and a falling/rising light which together create an illusion of a slowly rocking boat. The structure also makes a sound like an old wooden boat.

Rakenteen äänet myös muistuttavat keinuvan puulaivan ääniä.

Very slow and very swift movement in the same system.

The moving parts of the structure will rise slowly to 2 meters in about 25 minutes and take the same time to come down. The movement of the joints is slow, but there are also sudden noises when the parts get loose and fall down.

Hyvin hidas ja hyvin äkillinen liike samassa järjestelmässä.

Teoksen rakenteet nousevat ja laskevat 2 metrin matkan ylä- alasuunnassa noin 25 minuutin aikana yhteen suuntaan. Kokonaisuuden liike on hidas,  mutta sattumanvaraisesti niputtuneet rakenteet vapautuvat ja tippuvat alas kova-äänisesti yllättäen.

Ajattelin teoksen yhteydessä erästä puiston puuta, jonka ohitan kotimatkallani melken jokapäivä. En ole koskaan voinut omassa ajassani kokea tai nähdä tuon puun hidasta kasvua, mutta yllättäen eräs päivä puu tiputti suuren katkenneen oksan dramaattisesti eteeni. Elämme tuon puun kanssa eri aikarytmissä, mutta tuolla hetkellä ajantajumme kohtasivat.

There is sand in the sidebaskets and that sand can be poured with shovel to the silo on top of the work. This will cause the sand to flow on the plates, making a sound like a rain while dripping on the thin tin. Eventually all the sand will gather on a basket under the work. The plates are traditional Thai plates and made from the same material as the many roofs in Bangkok. The work was made as a part of the workshop and exhibition in Thai : Nordic 2011 in Silpakorn university's art centre in Bangkok.

Teoksen yläosaan voidaan kaataa hiekkaa sivukoreista, jonka jälkeen hiekka valuu hitaasti lautasia pitkin hajaantuen teoksen pohjalle ja lopulta teoksen alla olevaan koriin. Hiekan valuminen lautasilla saa aikaan sateen ropinaa muistuttavan ääneen. Lautaset ovat perinteisiä Bankgkokissa käytettäviä ruokalautasia ja lautasten materiaali sama kuin paikallisissa peltikatoissa. Teos oli osana Bangkokissa Thaimaassa tapahtunutta Thai:Nordic 2011 workshopia, sekä sitä seurannutta näyttelyä Silpakornin yliopiston taidekeskuksessa.

Leafs of the plant will rise when there is sand poured in to the silo with a shovel. After 10 minutes the leafs will go down again because the sand pours down to the bigger silo.

Houseplant acts like a real plant. When water is poured to the center of the plant the 8 branches will rise from the weight of the water. First slow but increasingly faster. When can is lowered to the floor, the water will start dripping back to the can. This will let the branches and leaves come down again. So, the plant will fade without water and care.

Huonekasvi toimii kuin oikea kasvi. Kun kasvin keskustaan kaadetaan vettä nousevat kasvin 8 nivellettyä vartta veden painosta ensin hitaasti, mutta kiihtyen veden painon lisäännyttyä. Kun kannu lasketaan jälleen maahan alkaa vesi tippuman takaisin kannuun ja antaa varsien ja lehtien laskeutua, eli kasvi kuihtuu ilman vettä ja huolenpitoa.

Around the sand area there is a mechanical structure circulating an orbit, from where it swings a landing pod to the sand. The pod is endlessly trying to land on the sand, shaping it on the process.

Two ant colonies (Formica Rufa), nest materials, honey, wood, acrylic, water, pumps, fans and electronics.

The living installation, Colonies  / The Mechanics of Adaptation, consists of two different ant colonies of the species Formica Rufa. These colonies have been installed in boxes around the room, each connected to a central terrarium in which there is flowing water surrounding an artificial island. The ant colonies move towards the central terrarium and island, where the basic necessities for life are located: water, food, and shelter. The colonies need to find a way to interact with each other, either by merging into a greater colony, isolating themselves and only accessing the island to retrieve food, or by fighting each other for territorial control. The island will hold the answer as to whether the "other" will be seen as a friend, foreigner, or enemy. It will also be a site of building.

Kaksi erillistä kekomuurahaisyhteiskuntaa (Formica rufa -laji) on sijoitettu pesälaatikoihin eri puolille huonetta, pesälaatikot on yhdistetty putkilla keskusterraarioon, jossa on virtaavan veden keskellä keinotekoinen saari. Yhteiskunnat kulkevat kohti keskuterraariota ja saarta, jolla on elämän perusedellytykset: vettä, ruokaa ja suojaa. Yhteiskuntien täytyy löytää tapa rakentaa suhde toiseen osapuoleen, oli tämä suhtautuminen sitten sulautumista yhdeksi yhteiskunnaksi, omilla alueillaan elämistä hakien vain ravintoa saarelta tai sotaisaa rajakahinaa toista vastaan. Saarella löydetään vastaus siihen onko toinen osapuoli näissä oloissa ystävä, muukalainen vai vihollinen. Saarella myös rakennetaan.

The mechanical installation, Time of Construction, consists of a tall structure similar to a lighthouse, which uses rotating and breathing light to guide a matrix table. Using the motion of water this builds and rises into a ziggurat pyramid, only to descend back down into a table after a few moments. In its mechanics the work captures, through an ant's eye-view, the rise and building up of a civilization's knowledge and beliefs. Time periods flow from darkness to enlightenment, monuments rise up, heavenly mechanics are understood and general knowledge grows and expands. Yet even as the understanding of the world and the universe grows, for an ant the passage of history means nothing, even if it understands the need to build.

Rakentamisen aika koostuu kahdesta osasta, joista toinen korkea majakkaa muistuttava rakenne ohjaa pyörivällä ja hengittävällä valollaan matriisipöytää. Tämä pöytä rakentuu veden liikkeen ja painon muutosten avulla 60 cm korkeaksi ziggurati-pyramidiksi. Tällä välin majakan pyöriminen on pysähdyksissä ja pyramidi alkaa hiljalleen laskeutua takaisin pöydäksi. Tämän jälkeen majakan valo alkaa jälleen pyöriä. Valo hengittaa jatkuvasti himmentyen ja kirkastuen Teos. Teos toteuttaa toiminnallaan ihmisen sivilisaation tietoon ja uskomuksiin perustuvaa nousua ja rakentumista muurahaisen näkökulmasta. Ajanjaksot kulkevat pimeästä valistukseen, monumentit nousevat, taivaanmekaniikasta opitaan ja yhteinen tieto kasvaa ja kertautuu. Maailmankuva siis laajenee, mutta muurahaiselle historian kulku ei merkitse juuri mitään, rakentamisen tarpeen se toki saattaa ymmärtää.

Dayshine compresses the time of sunrise and sunset in one minute. Around a round form there is a beam of light circulating and going through the colors of sunrise and sunset. Day in itself is a basic unit, the time of working hours, which has morning and night circulating continuously around it. This is also the place of a viewer, in front of a day, on the spot. Art historically a sunset is one of the greatest cliches, but today it's color is also a meter for the pollution. The more there is red color in sunrises and sunsets, the more there is pollution in the athmosphere.

Päivänsäde tiivistää jokapäiväisen auringonnousun ja laskun tapahtuman noin minuuttiin. Teoksessa pyöreän muodon ympärillä kiertävä valonsäde käy läpi auringonnousun värit yöstä päivään ja jälleen päivästä yöhön. Päivä on perusyksikkö, arkisin työnteon aikaa, jonka ympärillä aamu ja ilta vaihtuvat. Päivien kulku koetaan ihmisen itsensä, eli kuvannollisesti oman paikan ympärillä. Tämä on myös teoksessa katsojan paikka - päivän edessä. Taidehistoriallisesti auringonnousu ja -lasku ovat yksiä suurimpia klisheitä, mutta tänä päivänä ne toimivat myös mittareina. Mitä punaisempi auringonvalo on sitä enemmän ilmakehässä on saasteita, jotka saavat valon taittumaan.

This sculpture is like a huge scale, which has in it's both end's a plastic water bowl. The water circulating from bowl to bowl makes the scale-structure fall on the side of a bowl which is heavier from the water. This action in turn will tilt the lens in the center and let the sand flow and follow the water.

Tämä saa aikaa sen, että vaa’an painopiste muuttuu ja teos kallistuu sille puolen, jossa on enemmän vettä. Teoksessa on myös keskellä ontto akrylaattimuovinen linssi, jonka sisällä on 4 eri laatuista hiekkaa. Nämä hiekat valuvat painovoiman vaikutuksesta linssin sisällä aina sille puolen jossa on enemmän vettä. Näin maa seuraa vettä.

Under the coat of a kettledrum there is a 4 subwoofers which are used to play the soundtrack of low frequency soundwaves. The soundtrack is made from harmonic and disharmonic chords which causes the sand to move in variable ways. Lighter sand will rise as mountain tops as heavier sand will stay lower. Louder volume makes the sand even make an explosion-kind-of-an-effect.

Teoksen keskellä olevan patarummun kalvon alla on 4 subwoofer -kaiutinta, joiden kautta toistuu jatkuvalla virralla 6 minuutin ääniraita. Ääniraita koostuu matalataajuksisista ääni-aalloista,sekä harmonisista, että disharmonisista soinnuista. Ääni-aallot saavat aikaan hiekan liikkeet, jotka vaihtelevat taajuuden mukaan. Hienojyväisempi hiekka kohoaa korkeammalle kuin raskaampi suurijyväinen hiekka. Välillä hiekka pöllähtelee ilmaan voimakkaamman äänen seurauksena, myös hiekan liikkeiden nopeus riippuu äänen laadusta.

Inside the ship there is a rotating disc with a weight on it and this is causing the ship to rock back and forth. In ship there is also a switch which is controlling the movements of the pool. In the pool there is water and a floating island which is circulating a stabile mountain. There is also some vulcanic sand which is following the island. In a way the pool is following the ship's movement. Under the pool there is a pendulum which is restricting the pool's movements.

Teoksessa laiva laineilee puolelta toiselle painon viemänä ja antaa vuorotellen virtaa maljan alla oleville moottoreille, joiden painot liikkuessaan saavat maljan veden joko pyörimään tai lainehtimaan, jolloin maljassa oleva kelluva saari kiertää keskellä olevaa vuorta, sekä saa hienorakeisen tuliperäisen hiekan maljassa seuraamaan saaren liikkeitä.

Plants move very slow, they don't seem to move at all, at least not for the human eye, but they do move and it is called growing. In the installation there is a slow movement going on. This is caused by the watertanks which are slowly dripping their water for the plants. The time of these actions takes several days or weeks, depending on the amount of the water. There are four mechanical actions going on in the installation. 

1.  The chalk draws a perfect circle on blackboard and documents the passing time according to the decreasing of water in the same system. This is like nature documentary.
2. Sand falls from a tilting can to cover a plant. When water decreases the dryiness increases. Deserts grow.
3. The stone, which acts as a counterweight for watertank, falls closer and closer to a plant. Evidently squishing it. When water ends - life ends, or at least gets a lot harder.
4. fourth system gets more water in it's watertank from system 2 (the plant in this system is watered by a tank in system 3) and lifts an arm which is attached to a plant. When the tank is full it's weight is going to pull out the plant from the soil. So, in this case the more water the system get's the more it's pulling the plant up. Plant's grow towards sun.

Kasvien liike on hidasta ja kärsimättömälle huomaamatonta - kasvua. Installaatiossa toteutuu hidas liike kasveja kastelevien vesitankkien toimesta. Tankit kevenevät vedestä ja antavat painosta johtuneen voimansa vastapainolleen, joka aiheuttaa liikkeen. Teoksessa on neljä tällaista paino-vastapainoparia.  Teoksen liikkeiden toteutuminen vie useita päiviä.

1. Liitu piirtää täydellista ympyrää liitutaululle ja mittaa aikaa veden vähenemisen seurauksena samassa systeemissä. Tämä on kuin luontodokumentti.
2. Hiekka peittää kasvin kannun kallistuessa tarpeeksi. Kun vesi vähenee niin kuivuus lisääntyy.
3.  Kivi, joka toimii vesitankin vastapainona, lähestyy kasvia veden vähentyessä ja lopulta litistää kasvin. Veden loputtua elämä loppuu tai ainakin vaikeutuu huomattavastii.
4. Tässä systeemissä vesitankki saa lisää vettä systeemiltä 2 ja painon noustessa kohoaa vastapainona oleva nosturimainen varsi, joka puolestaan nostaa kasvia mullasta ylöspäin. Kasvu suuntautuu ylöspäin.
